2015 MINI Cooper S Technical Service Bulletins
376 technical service bulletins (TSBs) are on record for the 2015 MINI Cooper S. TSBs are notes manufacturers send to dealers about repair procedures for issues seen in the field. They are not recalls and do not by themselves mean a vehicle has a fault.

- 10148150Jul 1, 2014Engine cooling. Service Action: Retrofit of the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor. Internal corrosion could form in the engine coolant temperature sensor which is integrated into the thermostat housing (not replaceable). This corrosion leads to internal bridging of the contacts, which can cause an inaccurate engine temperature reading. This false reading could lead to difficulty in the engine starting or a "Service Engine Soon"…
- 10148149Jul 1, 2014Engine cooling. Service Action: Retrofit of the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor. Internal corrosion could form in the engine coolant temperature sensor which is integrated into the thermostat housing (not replaceable). - 10148147Jul 1, 2014Transmission and drivetrain. B38M Shuts Off when Placed into Gear After Cold Engine Start. After a cold start, the engine idles poorly and could shut off when the transmission in placed into Reverse or Drive position. Unfavorable DME software.
- 10148146Jul 1, 2014Engine cooling. At operating temperature, the engine idle speed could dip low. In rare cases, the engine may stall, requiring a restart. This could mostly likely occur at a low speed (2nd gear) when coasting off the throttle and slowing to a stop. This situation could be perceived as an MSA malfunction: intermittent and not easily reproduced. Unfavorable DME software.
- 10148244Jun 1, 2014Equipment, Visibility (wipers, defrost, mirrors). Front Windshield Washer Jets Not Working. When operating the windshield washer, very little or no washer fluid is coming out of the washer jets. The windshield washer hose shown below is too short. This causes it to kink or disconnect.
- 10148242Jun 1, 2014Suspension. Delivery Stop/Service Action: Shock Absorber Rear Axle MODEL F56 (MINI Hardtop) SITUATION A rear shock absorber with a malfunctioning damper valve may have been fitted into some vehicles. Important note: In the group of identified vehicles, only four shock absorbers in total are affected. The damper function of these four units is only partially effective. These four shock absorbers can be identified, based on a…
- 10148359May 1, 2014Equipment, Wheels. Service Action: Replace Wheel Bolt Wrench. The internal thread of the wheel bolt wrench is incorrect at M8. AFFECTED VEHICLES This Service Action involves F56 vehicles according to VIN selection. First check if a Service Action label with a code number 64 is already attached to the B-pillar. If a code number 64 has been punched out, the Campaign has already been performed and no further action is necessary.
- 10148358May 1, 2014Equipment. Automatic Deactivation of Recirculation Mode. The customer states the recirculation display goes out, even though the recirculation button was switched on. CAUSE The automatic recirculation air deactivation feature was introduced in July 2012. Note: If the customer dislikes this feature, it can be deactivated by using the following steps.
- 10148357May 1, 2014Electrical system, Exterior lighting. LED Headlight Malfunction Displayed, but Lights Function Properly. A check control message or warning light is on, indicating a headlight malfunction, but the lights operate correctly. The BDC (Body Domain Controller) fault code 8041B6: "Headlight (LWR): System failed" is the only fault stored. This fault can occur after QC1 is performed or after a vehicle software update. BDC (Body Domain Controller) software error
- 10148356May 1, 2014Equipment, Electrical system. Vehicle Honks for 20 Seconds when Left in Neutral. INFORMATION This is normal vehicle operation if the customer leaves the vehicle (with the key in pocket) in Neutral without being shifted into Park. The honking noise notifies the customer that if the shifter is not put into Park position, the vehicle will roll away or, if left alone for longer periods, have a discharged battery. Please refer to the attached…
- 10148355May 1, 2014Visibility (wipers, defrost, mirrors), Equipment. Washer Fluid Leaks from Front Washer Jets. When operating the rear window washer, washer fluid leaks from the front windshield washer nozzles. Design issue with the windshield washer system
- 10148353May 1, 2014Body and structure. F56 Make Good Program: Install Accessory Roof Graphic or Mirror Caps. Due to production restrictions at Plant Oxford, certain F56 vehicles produced in May and June of this year cannot be built with the factory option for the contrasting roof and/or mirror caps. This production issue was caused by the plant expanding its paint capabilities to meet increasing vehicle demand.
- 10148352May 1, 2014Body and structure. Driver's Side Exterior Door Handle Cover Cap Is Loose. The driver's side exterior door handle cover cap is loose or missing. CAUSE Driver's side exterior door handle
- 10148351May 1, 2014Visibility (wipers, defrost, mirrors), Equipment. Transportation Protective Sleeve Introduced for Windshield Wipers. The windshield wipers streak and judder. The windshield wiper blades become distorted during transportation and when in storage.
- 10148350May 1, 2014Tires. Erroneous Check Control Message: Tire Pressure Check Failed. After pressing the Start/Stop button, Check Control message "Tire pressure check failed" appears briefly, as well as the corresponding light in the instrument cluster. These displays disappear after a few seconds. Software in the BDC (Body Domain Controller)
- 10148349May 1, 2014Brakes, Electrical system. Erroneous "Service due" Message Although Brake Lining Thickness is Above Minimum Specification. The yellow "Service Due" warning message lights up in the instrument cluster, even though the brake pad thickness is more than 4.2mm (above the thickness at which the pad sensor intervenes). The calculated remaining service life for the brake pads (front and/or rear axle) from the CBS data does not match the actual brake…
- 10148348May 1, 2014Engine cooling. Turbocharger Coolant Pump: Fault Code 20A503. "Drive Faulty" message is displayed in the Check Control. Fault code 20A503 "Turbocharger coolant pump, self diagnosis: Signal implausible" is stored in the DME. Unfavorable DME software application
