“Safety issue with driver's side floor mat on a Nissan Armada. The grommet that's supposed to hold the floor mat in place ripped and now the floor mat no longer stays in place. I was told by Nissan dealership to call Nissan USA, which I did. They said b/c my vehicle is out of warranty they can't replace the floor mat. This is an issue b/c the floor mat keeps sliding towards the foot pedals and could get trapped there, thus limiting my breaking ability.”

NHTSA complaint #10410034, filed 2011-06, 35,026 miles

“While driving approximately 25 MPH, I applied pressure to the brake pedal and the brake pedal fell to the floor. We had no braking power at all. I heard a grinding noise coming from the brakes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technicians stated they could not find a problem. The vehicle was not repaired. This has happened three times already and this is a real safety hazard!!!!! One of times it happened at 40 MPH what if I cant stop the next time it happens who is going to be responsible for this.”

NHTSA complaint #10413731, filed 2011-07, 80,000 miles

“My Nissan Armada caught fire with no warning. Nissan has admitted this is due to a recalled air compressor unit with likelihood to catch fire. Nissan will not remedy the situation and is now negotiating in bad faith. Nissan has offered to buy out the car so they can sell the components at auction - however, they are unwilling to make us whole.”

The contact stated that the Fire Department arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire but not before the vehicle was destroyed. A police report was filed.
