“The engine loses power suddenly and unexpectedly (check engine light turns on). With the loss of power, vehicle loses speed and acceleration. This situation has happened on four different occasions. In all cases the loss of power happened while driving, three of the times while driving on a major highway (I-10). The sudden loss of speed creates a hazardous situation for me, my passengers and any drivers around me. In all cases I have taken my vehicle to the dealership that I bought the car from, mossy Nissan in houston (mn). …”

“Transmission will not shift gears properly , causing vehicle to stall in traffic this is the second time this has happened with this vehicle , 1st time Nissan replaces transmission and now this happens again”

NHTSA complaint #11343936, filed 2020-08, 55,850 miles

“On 5 separate occasions 2 on the same trip, whn traveling down interstate vehicle will not pull, like its stuck in a gear and will not shift . Happens around 80 MPH. Creating a dangerous situation when vehicle will not speed up and slows down from 80 MPH to 65 and will not gain any speed, this has almost caused a wreck 3 times all on the interstate. This vehicle has been to dealer 3 times for same issue, 1st time nothing found per them, second time replaced transmission valve body, 3rd time replaced transmission. Still not repaired”

NHTSA complaint #11316734, filed 2020-03, 48,200 miles

“While driving the vehicle has displayed an intermittent transmission shudder at low speeds when accelerating from a stopped position. This occurs at speeds between 20-40 MPH. The shudder can be felt through the floor into the seat and appears as if the transmission is searching for a proper gear. Under hard acceleration/freeway driving the issue does not present itself. The vehicle has been into both my Nissan and infinity dealer. Both technicians who inspected the vehicle confirmed feeling the shudder. Driveline service was performed at Nissan and the ECM received the most current update. …”

NHTSA complaint #11386752, filed 2021-01, 11,200 miles

“The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that while shifted in reverse, the vehicle failed to respond; however, the vehicle was able to drive forward. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The mechanic, who was a former mechanic with Nissan, informed the contact that it was known failure with the Nissan transmission, and that the shifter was unable to shift into reverse. …”
