It has chonic problems with the brake lights not working. The metal light socket barrel will separate from the plastic socket that holds the lamp in the lens assembly. My nephew who drove the truck on numerous occasions had to reinsert them in order so they would work. This problem I learned was common with this Nissan pickup had resulted in a safety recall (#98v-234) campaign by Nissan. …”

I took my truck to the dealer and was told that my VIN number was not included in the recall, which was only a number off. I contact Nissan and after many attempts with no return call and being told one time that I would be granted financial assistance to fix the tail light harness and after being directed to several Nissan specialist I was told that Nissan would not cover my problem being the tail light harness, exactly that of their recall, and that of a safety issue.”

Nissan of brandon acknwleged there was a recall, but there was nothing they could do for me since my VIN was not included in the recall. I was instructed to call 1-800-nissan1.
