“My car accelerated causing damage to mailbox, telephones pole and I don't know what else? And myself, along with other people could have been seriously hurt, was driving down the street when a car pulled in front of me, I swerved to keep from hitting them, when I did that my car accelerated to high speed, while my foot was on the brake the whole time and both hands on the stirring wheel while it proceeded to cross the intersection until it came to a stop, foot still on brake while it started to back up slowly back into the intersection I pray to god and then stirred the wheel into the…”

NHTSA complaint #11072448, filed 2018-02, 111,000 miles

“The front rotors became warped for the 2nd time since I have owned the car. The first time the car had approx 23k miles, was under warranty and the vehicle was repaired at a local Nissan dealership. The car now has 49k miles and once again began vibrating when the brakes were applied. Car was taken to a mechanic, who recommended that both front rotors be replaced. Two sets of rotors in a car with less than 50k miles seems excessive.”

NHTSA complaint #10550070, filed 2013-10, 49,000 miles

“At temperatures below 20 f the brake pedal will not depress and the car will not stop. This is a recurring incident. Most recently, pulled away from parking spot (street parking) and drove towards an intersection with a stop sign. Tried to stop, but the brake pedal was stuck (would not depress) and the car rolled past the stop sign until it eventually rolled to a stop on the other side of the road. Honked horn to avoid collision as the street I crossed is a busy two-way road. Kept the car in park for about a minute while pumping the brakes, and they worked again after that. …”
