Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“The control buttons located on the steering wheel of the newer model Nissan Pathfinder are malfunctioning. These buttons control numerous functions and sensors. What's happening is, the spring action of the buttons are failing and the button is loose. This causes the button to make contact as if it was pushed without touching it, simply driving over a bump. Some of these buttons control warning sensors for the vehicle, anti-collision, parking, blind spot, etc. Numerous people are complaining about this online. …”

NHTSA complaint #11702838, filed 2025-12

“Safety Cameras stopped working on the screen just gives black image when cars put into reverse. If cameras button is pushed screen swaps over to a black screen.”

NHTSA complaint #11686300, filed 2025-09

“Blind Spot Warning system is malfunctioning. Can provide inspection upon request. The absence of Blind Spot Warning poses lane changing/highway driving a danger to vehicle operator and others while the vehicle must be at speeds of 20MPH or higher to be active. Problem was identified by dealer. Dealer indicated Blind Spot Warning checked as indicated on carfax report. Warning lamp indicator was acknowledged prior to failure. As the new owner it first appeared on 14 March 2025. I assume it is reoccurring problem indicated by the carfax report.”
