1996: “Vehicle did not give any warning that the battery was discharging. This occurred while driving 55mph on interstate 95 in ma. The electrical system completely shut down as I exited the road. Second time this happened in 4 years. No icons came on to warn me. Frightening experience to have car stalled at exit with trucks egressing the road.”

NHTSA complaint #10039389, filed 2003-09, 46,138 miles

1997: “When pulling to the left out of a parking place I noticed that the steering wheel was becoming increasingly difficult to turn. Eventually the wheel wouldn't turn even with force. While trying to turn the wheel a squooshing noise was heard. After a few moments the steering wheel did turn, but with extreme difficulty, and I immediately went straight home (approximately 14 miles). During that time I did not make any abrupt turns and was very cautious driving only 45 MPH at the maximum. …”

1989: “Sub frame bolts rusted away and pulled the washers and rubber bushings then the steering shaft pulled out of the steering box causing no steering. I phoned GM in ontario just to advise them of the problem and see if there was any recalls. The lady I was speaking to got real defensive and belligerent and said if there was any recalls she would have known then said goodbye and hung up. Then I found out on the internet by accident a web site from a government agent listing the year and model of my car and the same problem. …”
