NHTSA complaint #10071298, filed 2004-01, 89,065 miles“Potential for failure: on aug 15, 2006, I purchased a set of 4 goodyear weather handler tires from a national chain store. On examining these tires, I saw that 3 were made in 2006 and 1 in 2004. (date codes: mdxo wkhr 2806 - 2; mdxo wkhr 2106 - 1; and mkxo wkhr 4304.) the rubber on the 2004 tire does not feel as live as the rubber on the 2006 tires. I am concerned that this will adversely affect the handling and traction balance of the car. The 2004 tire is already 40% into the aging cycle. I have requested the store to replace the 2004 tire--for the reasons given here. …”
