“I have a 2002 Pontiac Aztek and all four of the wheel bearings went bad with only 45,000 miles on the car. The anti lock brakes come on when you touch the brakes and we've almost been in quite a few wrecks. I've researched some reviews and there are alot of people that are having the same problems that I'm having. Thank you for your time.”

NHTSA complaint #10245748, filed 2008-10, 45,000 miles

“In a hard stop in stop-and-go rush hour freeway traffic, a corroded steel hydraulic brake line failed. This was the line from the ABS module to the right front brake. As such it immediately caused a substantial loss of braking ability - I was in the far left lane and I was able to abruptly move to the left shoulder. Had I been in one of the center lanes there would have been a crash, it would have been unavoidable, the rear brakes were still functional and I still had limited braking ability. …”

NHTSA complaint #10538336, filed 2013-09, 251,612 miles

“My rear brakes had to be changed the first time at 13,590 miles and I was told it was not covered under my warranty my brakes then had to be replaced on the rear again at 16,473 and since then my brakes have been pads and rotors and brakes have been like changing oil every three thousand miles . …”

NHTSA complaint #10064445, filed 2004-04, 16,473 miles

“My 2002 Aztek has only 45,000 miles, mostly highway. The rear brakes are making a grinding noise right before coming to a complete stop. I was told by plaza tire that the brakes are not bad, that Pontiac has a problem with its braking system and is aware of it the gentleman to whom I spoke stated that the only way he knew to fix the problem was to replace the rotors, calipers and pads, and that he could not guarantee the problem wouldn't reoccur. …”

NHTSA complaint #10048829, filed 2003-11, 44,800 miles

“Check engine light appeared. Took vehicle to mechanic and was told the code was in reference to the fuel tank pressure sensor. Mechanic de-activated check engine light. After 2 days, check engine light appeared again. Took to dealer and had code checked. Same issue with fuel pressure sensor. Dealer stated this was a recall issue. Dealer checked with manufacturer and was told this was not a problem. Dealer removed connector at body pass. Check engine light de-activated. After 1 week, check engine light appeared. …”
