“My 2000 Pontiac Grand Am has left me stranded about 100 times, I have had my car fixed 7 times for the security light problem under warranty but the problem has not been corrected. The car only starts when it wants to because of the pass lock system failure. Please have GM recall the parts of the security feature it really isn't safe to be stranded when I work in the middle of night.”

NHTSA complaint #10208863, filed 2007-11, 54,986 miles

“The vehicle does not start. I was told by the Pontiac dealer to put the ignition in the accessory position to reset the computer for about ten minutes and it works. This has happened a dozen times since I've owned the car in 2004. I fear this is related to the GM recalls on the unintended key rotation which my car is covered and the cylinder lock replacements on certain vehicles which I am not covered. I wonder why GM is replacing some cylinder locks and not all the defected ones. I want mine replaced, I know this is a safety hazard and fear driving this vehicle! Can you help me. Thank you!”

NHTSA complaint #10621855, filed 2014-08, 43,555 miles

“I bought this car used in the november 2001. With in 31 days the brakes started squealing took in for service was told that the brakes were shot and need replaced. This cost me $86. I went back on the dealer where purchased and he paid the other half. When I bought the car the windshield washer fluid tank had a hole in and had to be replaced this was covered under warranty and was in the shop at the same time with the brakes. They were to order the new tank when they had the car in for brakes and didn't I had to go back to get it installed. …”

NHTSA complaint #10070458, filed 2004-01, 49,000 miles

“Right passenger seat has problems locking into place therefore when applying brakes seat rolls forward. 10 year old son head hit the windshield due to the seat not locking... Also the right front passenger seat belt constricts and the seat belt has to be unbuckle and reset by the passenger .. Due to these defects my child head was slammed into the windshield of the vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #10080945, filed 2004-07, 52,000 miles

“Consumer' s vehicle had the same problem as mentioned in NHTSA recall 03v32700. The hazard warning switches may experience solder joint cracking caused by rapid temperature transitions and the soldering process. If solder joint cracking occurs and results in an open circuit, the turn signals/hazard lamps become intermittent or inoperative. Dealership indicated to the consumer this vehicle was not included in the recall due to VIN. The HVAC blower was inoperative.”
