“On 11/5/17 my 2007 Pontiac steering locked and I was in a major car crash. The steering locked as I tried to leave a gas station after giving a stranded person a jump. I turned car off and back on and it was fine. Proceeded home and got on the highway, after driving about 45 minutes the steering locked again as I was changing lanes, I hit the back of a truck and my car lost control. My car went across lanes of on coming traffic and flipped and ran off the road.”

NHTSA complaint #11044629, filed 2017-11, 165,000 miles

“We purchased a 2007 Pontiac Torrent in may 2007. Three days after ownership the power steering failed. The dealership explained to us that it was a module that was bad and they replaced. Today, while driving we attempted to make a right hand turn and the car went straight. I had no control of the steering. The steering wheel would just spin in circles.”

NHTSA complaint #10314893, filed 2010-02, 38,950 miles

“I felt the car shutter a little and then the steering locked up while driving home on the highway. Also, the stability/traction light stays on. My car only has 21000 miles on it and is still practically new.”

NHTSA complaint #10542199, filed 2013-09, 21,300 miles

“On the morning of oct.27, 2010 while my husband was trying to leave from pt and come home of post the car would not start (Pontiac Torrent) he had to have it jumped just to start it. After the car turned over he found that there was no power steering. He managed to get it to the dealers that we have bought it from to see what the problem/s were. We now have no car for work doctors and to get the things we need. The car (Pontiac Torrent) is now at the dealership to see what's wrong and if they can fix the problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10362656, filed 2010-10, 56,800 miles

“Just got this Torrent three weeks ago, yesterday while driving home from work on the freeway, the traction control light came on, and I lost a little power. I managed to make it home, then the service traction control, service stabilitrack , and the engine power is reduced lights came on. I am beyond upset, I got it from the dealership that I have done business with for years, I am waiting on them to open this morning to give them a call. The first day I got the car the service passenger air bag came on, I took it back the next morning, and they replaced a module, now this!!!!! …”
