Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“The cruise control on the vehicle doest work. It seems to be something wrong with the system, because it starts to somewhat work when I reboot the system to factory settings. After a while, the system just stops working. I guess that this is something a lot of people go through, since there's tons of youtube videos about people trying to fix it.”

NHTSA complaint #11269823, filed 2019-10, 50,000 miles

“Periodically when pressing gas pedal I get no response and truck just lags. Unfortunately this seems to always happen when I'm trying to merge onto the highway or when I'm making a left turn and although I make the turn with oncoming traffic at a good distance sometimes the truck just stops and I have a delay before the truck starts moving again while I'm sitting right in the way of oncoming traffic.”

NHTSA complaint #10821728, filed 2016-01, 15,000 miles

“My 2014 Ram 2500 6.7 diesel truck has a problem with a throttle hesitation in certain situations (dead pedal) the problem is if you give it some throttle and then you let off slightly and reapply the throttle again the truck will not respond to the throttle input for a couple of seconds! This situation can be very dangerous and has put me in a bad situation several times nearly causing an accident! This needs to be addressed!”

NHTSA complaint #10919247, filed 2016-10, 1,000 miles

“The truck was recalled and repaired or up dated as per recall notices. Then I started having trouble with my cruise control. My dealer checked the switch and fuse , they where ok. The tech said there is maybe something broke in the clock spring. I only have 29k on the truck. I think they may have broke something in one of the recall fixes. There seems to be other people with the same trouble. I don't think they fixing the recalls properly. Why should I pay for their guess work and/or sloppy work.”

NHTSA complaint #11252593, filed 2019-08, 24,000 miles

“While traveling in a congested traffic area, I wanted to change lanes and when I pressed on the accelerator pedal there was no response for 2 to 3 seconds leaving me stranded in between lanes and I was almost hit from behind! This has happened several times.”
