What NHTSA recorded

In some cases, the universal joint may penetrate the wall of the fuel tank. Insufficient clearance between the frame mounted plastic fuel tank and the driveline propeller shaft may allow contact between the shaft universal joint and the tank.

Remedy

The dealer will install a shield between the fuel tank and propeller shaft universal joint to maintain the required clearance. This will be done at no cost to owner.
