Close proximity of certain hoses to high heat emitted from the catalytic converter would cause the hose to deteriorate.

Possible consequence

This could result in a sudden loss of power, creatingthe possibility of a rear end crash.

Remedy

Install a heat shield over the catalytic converter to protect the hoses from heat deterioration.
