What NHTSA recorded

Improperly machined brake pedal to push rod pivot bolts have a tendency to work themselves loose from the retaining nut, which could lead to brake failure.

Possible consequence

If the nut worked itself loose, pivot bolt would fall out, leaving the brake pedal assembly detached from the brake booster reaction rod, which would disable the hydraulic brake system and lead to an accident.

Remedy

Replace pivot bolt and nut with upgraded bolt and nut lock.

Affected model years

Pages for each model year show complaints, parts, mileage and other recalls.
