Check your own vehicle. A recall applies only to vehicles within the affected build range. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. Recall repairs are free at a franchised dealer.
What NHTSA recorded
Steering gears have no end-of-travel stops. Extreme left and right turns place added loads on the axle steering arm which can cause the arm to loosen and shear mounting studs.
Possible consequence
Loosening of the steering arm or shearing of themounting studs result in loss of steering control, and a possible vehicleaccident.
Remedy
Install steering arm stop and new studs.
