2009 Saturn Sky Technical Service Bulletins

915 technical service bulletins (TSBs) are on record for the 2009 Saturn Sky. TSBs are notes manufacturers send to dealers about repair procedures for issues seen in the field. They are not recalls and do not by themselves mean a vehicle has a fault.

• 10038510Mar 1, 2011Engine cooling. Gm: there may be noise coming from the cylinder head, because of low oil pressure which is caused by debris.
• 10038511Feb 1, 2011Engine cooling. Gm: there may be a short rattle noise from the front of the engine when it is started. It could be a problem with cam phasers or the engine belt.
• 10036444Aug 1, 2010Engine cooling. Chevrolet/pontiac/saturn/daewood/opel: low turbocharger boost pressure or possible dtc p0299. Technicians may find dtc p0299 present. May also find the turbo wastegate actuator rod nut missing. Most parts of the turbocharger are not serviceable.
• 10036544Jun 1, 2010Engine cooling. Chevrolet/pontiac/saturn/daewoo/opel: engine misfire/low compression. Technician should perform a compression test. Results may lead to cylinder with low compression (85-90psi). This may cause the misfire.
• 10032458Sep 1, 2009Brakes. Saturn/gmc/ pontiac/ chevrolet: brake pedal spongy, increased pedal travel, increased effort to stop (inspect for leaks, replace brake pressure modulator valve (bpmv), and bleed brake system). May be caused by air accumulating in the master cylinder or by a missing filter in the brake pressure modulator valve (bpmv).

Pontiac/saturn/chevrolet: dtc p0011 (intake camshaft position (cmp) system performance) and/or p0014 (exhaust camshaft position (cmp) system performance). • 10032461Jun 1, 2009Engine cooling. Daewoo/opel/saturn/pontiac/chevrolet: turbocharger housing inlet flange cracks in partition wall.
• 10032335Jun 1, 2009Electrical system. Daewoo/saturn/opel/pontiac/chevrolet: instrument panel cluster (ipc) air bag indicator illuminated (install protective material). Upon performing a dtc check, the technician may find a b0012-02, b0012-oe or b0013-oe code stored in the supplemental inflatable restraints (sir) system. This condition may be caused by a short to ground in the yellow sir wiring harness. *pe updated 6/16/15.
• 10030765May 1, 2009Transmission and drivetrain. Pontiac/saturn/opel: clutch may not release when depressing clutch pedal during freezing temperatures (install water deflector shield). Its most noticeable when starting the vehicle or trying to shift into gear. This condition may be caused by moisture entering the clutch housing area and causing the clutch plate to freeze to the flywheel.
• 10030746May 1, 2009Electrical system. Chevrolet/opel/saturn/cadillac/pontiac: a low battery condition on any of the above listed vehicles could potentially cause the sir light to come. The sdm under low power situations could set codes b0083 and b0084.

• 10030004Nov 1, 2008Engine cooling. General motors: tech may encounter a vehicle with a low boost/power condition and/or dtc p0299 and or p0101 setting. This may be the result of a cracked or broken fitting at the turbocharger assembly.

Onstar system inoperative; replace onstar module. Some vehicles may have an onstar module with a component that was not manufactured to gm's specification. Can result in an open circuit and an inability to call or receive calls from onstar. Csc letter was received.
