2010 Scion XB Suspension Problems

“My Scion XB has a set of dealer installed TRD springs front and rear. The springs in the rear have rusted to the point where I question their resistance to breaking and thus the safety of the car when turning a corner. The springs came from the factory with a coating that has quickly worn off an exposed the bare, untreated metal to excessive rust and corrosion. If one of these springs breaks while driving, then the car could be difficult to control and result in a wreck.”

“The contact owns a 2010 Scion XB. The contact stated that while the vehicle was idling, the vehicle would shake and vibrate abnormally. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the motor mounts were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, while driving approximately 25 mph, the front passenger’s side axle failed causing the front passenger’s side of the vehicle to lower. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 225,000.”
