“The airbag light for drivers side comes on and goes off randomly. This problem was discovered while under warranty and I did take the vehicle in for repair. But if the dealership ever repaired the problem (I suspect they did not repair it) the light still continues to come on and go off randomly. The dealership quit returning my phone calls years ago now.”
NHTSA complaint #11268794, filed 2019-10, 2,000 miles“Brandon, the service advisor at Subaru of santa cruz, attended to my service and repair needs I had in july of 2017, however not the airbag recall. When I entered the service area I went over my concerns with the vehicle and what services I needed. I also asked brandon to look up and take care of the airbag recall for the vehicle. He said that he would check that out for me. I left the vehicle for a few days and came back to pick it up. I figured airbag recalls are top priorities at Subaru and that everything was remedied. …”
NHTSA complaint #11025348, filed 2017-09, 105,540 miles“I replaced the battery on 7/11/15. I needed a smog certificate this month for my registration renewal and my vehicle would not pass for certification. I had driven the vehicle over 700 miles after battery replacement and was told that I needed to drive it an additional 50 to 100 miles non-stop to reset the vehicle to pass the inspection. I asked at the dealership can't you reset the vehicle here so that all this driving and mileage is not required, the dealership stated no. The volkswagen have a reset button on a panel but not the Subaru or any other vehicles. …”
NHTSA complaint #10788984, filed 2015-11, 33,544 miles“Takata recall - I finally received acknowledgement from Subaru of america that I have two airbags..takata-sourced passenger side frontal airbag and toyoda gosei driver-side airbag located in the center of the steering wheel. The safety recall notice that I received indicates that they will only be replacing the takata-sourced passenger side frontal airbag when parts are available...possibly not until feruary, 2017. Timmons Subaru where I purchased the Subaru stated that they will pay for a rental car, but will not pay for the insurance on the rental car...totally unacceptable. …”
NHTSA complaint #10896981, filed 2016-08, 35,250 miles“Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Subaru Impreza. The contact stated that while driving about 60 MPH, the vehicle in front rear-ended the vehicle ahead of it and caused the contact's vehicle to rear end the vehicle. The contact stated that none of the air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries that required medical attention. The contact's vehicle was totaled and was towed to a tow yard. The dealer was not contacted and the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000. …”
