Opened side compartment to find melting, burning plastic inside dripping onto unprotected un shielded exhaust system. If anything was stored inside this compartment it would of fueled a much larger more dangerous fire.”
NHTSA complaint #10730324, filed 2015-06, 7,300 miles“Onan generator stop after operating for 1 or 2 hours while driving down the road. Generator reports error code 36, apparently overheating is the reason. Thor and onan are pointing at each other as to who is responsible. Onan generator is rated to operate up to 120f, but fails when temperature outside is below 100 and the vehicle is moving, which should result in some cooling effect to counter the effect of the hot road surface and rv engine heat. Interior of rv, specially in longer units can not maintain a safe temperature for passengers with only the engine A/C unit. …”
