“The front brakes are chronically mushy. They do stop the bike, but the lever travel is excessive. They have corrected the issue on newer bikes with different hardware but will do nothing more than labor service on my 2005 bike that is still under warranty.”
NHTSA complaint #10164438, filed 2006-08, 200 miles“Too much brake lever travel , associated with a decrease in brake responsiveness or 'bite . Dealer has bled the brakes of air , respond that it is a known issue with no fix , problem returned shortly after being serviced.”
NHTSA complaint #10164662, filed 2006-08, 325 miles“I have owned a 2005 Triumph Speed Triple motorcycle for several months now. The front brakes have a dangerous problem which clearly is a problem. The brakes do not consistently stop at the same point when pulling in the lever and continue to get worse until a temp fix is done and the process starts over. Currently Triumph is declining to even do the temp fix for me while many others have had it done! Triumph calls this progressive feel. This is not a feature. …”
