“The trunk will no longer open although when I use the remote key to unlock it I do hear it click. I have read that this has been a problem for other drivers, which is why I'm reporting it here.”
NHTSA complaint #11364901, filed 2020-10, 86,798 miles“While driving either the passenger door or the driver door suddenly becomes unlatched even when locked and the information message system comes on saying passenger (or driver) door is open and cabin lights come on. I am required to pull over and resecure doors. This issue has escalated to a nearly daily occurrence. This problem should be fixed by a recall as doors are not supposed to automatically come open on a 7 year old car that has never been in an accident. I have made an appt with the herb gordon Volvo dealer in silver spring md for an assessment.”

The car has been to the mattusch Volvo dealer in kaiserslautern, germany, four times for these leaks; mattusch has had the car for over 3 months (cumulative) trying to correct the leaks to no avail. In fact the repairs have made the leaks worse. It started with small water leaks in the rear windows. After the repairs the leaks got worse and worse and air noise was very bad. Now the trunk leaks water due to the repairs . I have had a Volvo country rep look at the car and he agrees the air noise is bad. …”
