2008 Volvo S40 Technical Service Bulletins

158 technical service bulletins (TSBs) are on record for the 2008 Volvo S40. TSBs are notes manufacturers send to dealers about repair procedures for issues seen in the field. They are not recalls and do not by themselves mean a vehicle has a fault.

• 10030359May 15, 2009Electrical system, Fuel system. Volvo: leakage detection diagnostics improvements to remedy dtc's. All models from model years 2003-2008. Diagnostic monitor for the evaporative emission system small leak, has used a software function that calculates leakage based on a pressure inferred from the current consumed by an electric pump that pumps air into the fuel tank system.
• 10030425Apr 27, 2009Brakes. A service kit has been developed to reduce the current through the vacuum switch for the brake vacuum pump. *pe updated 12/30/09.
• 10027424Oct 17, 2008Air bags. Volvo vehicles: pad lamp, logic changed with srs sw upgrade. The pad (passenger airbag disabled) lamp illuminates when the front passenger seat is unoccupied. Earlier vehicles within same range, receive a total can or srs reload or upgrade will receive the new logic.
• 10027304Oct 15, 2008Engine cooling. Volvo: on the pzev (partial zero emissions vehicle)crankcase ventilation hose and oil trap replacement. The crankcase ventilation hose may crack which may lead to non compliance with evaporative emission legal requirements.
