Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“I am aware of several dozen people who have had the same problem I am now having with failure of the throttle position sensor (tps) on a 2004-2005 Yamaha FZ6. This causes a new vehicle to run poorly and stall frequently until the part is replaced.”

NHTSA complaint #10157605, filed 2006-05, 4,800 miles

“Motorcycle has been idling poorly and stalling when coming off interstate riding. Gas mileage has also been dropping. Only recently, motorcycle stalled in center lane of highway at traffic signal at night, would not restart. Received fault code 15 corresponding to throttle position sensor. Replaced part. Learned of several other 2005 FZ6's with similar problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10161041, filed 2006-06, 17,648 miles
