Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“While maneuvering my v-star 1300 tourer (xvs13ctw(c)) in a parking lot the throttle became stuck almost causing me to drop the motorcycle. The throttle becomes stuck when the motorcycle handle bars are turned hard to the right. I have no remedy for the situation. I took the motorcycle to the nearest Yamaha shop. The complaint was verified. It also exists on a brand new floor model. The problem appears to be consistent on only the tourer model.”

“While maneuvering my vstar 1300 tourer (xvs13ctw(c)) at low speeds in the friction zone the throttle sticks intermittently causing the bike to become unstable due to the lack of power and fall over. Many 1300 owners are experiencing this issue as outlined on various web based forums.”
