“I was lightly stepped on the gas coming off a complete stop with no cars in front of me. The automatic breaking came on hard and a sensor flashed to BRAKE as if I was going to hit someone but there was nobody in front of me. The sensor alert system was turned off 15min prior as I had gone through a car wash. This is the first time this has happened but unknown why. Had there been a car behind me, I may have been hit.”

“I was pulling into a friend’s driveway. I had my foot on the brake was barely creeping forward. Without any yellow warning, the car slammed on the brakes for me. It hit the brakes so hard, I had smoke coming out of my front, middle vents and when I got out of the car, it smelled very bad and I had smoke coming from my brakes. There was nothing in front of me. The same incident also happened to my husbands few days earlier while he was pulling into our garage.”

NHTSA complaint #11653577, filed 2025-04

“1. Brake Pedal Sinking to Floor While Stopped - While stopped at a traffic light or in stop-and-go traffic, the brake pedal intermittently sinks all the way to the floor despite steady pressure being applied. This issue occurs sporadically, making it difficult for the dealership to consistently replicate during service visits, but it has happened multiple times. Critically, once the pedal sinks, it does not return to its normal position on its own. I am forced to manually pull it back using my foot, which is both dangerous and unacceptable in a modern vehicle. …”

NHTSA complaint #11671242, filed 2025-07

“I was driving in the far right lane on the Van Wyck Expressway when suddenly my steering wheel locked up on me along with the following error messages displayed on the odometer: 1. Collision mitigation braking system problem. See your dealer 2. Road Departure mitigation problem. See your Dealer 3. Low Speed braking control problem. See your Dealer. 4. Electric Power Steering problem. Steering assist not available. Do not drive. 5. All wheel drive system problem. Only front wheels may be powered. See your Dealer. 6. Brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer. 7. …”

NHTSA complaint #11711323, filed 2026-01

“On more than several occasions the car has slammed on the breaks for no apparent reason. This has happened multiple times and thr dealer can’t fix the issue because the computer is showing no error. This is a serious concern for me as the last time it occurred a child hit her face on the back of the passenger seat causing her lip to bleed.”
