“Dash has cracked completely around passenger side dash air bag, which , in my belief, will effect deployment. This problem began occurring in the summer of 2016. I noticed the first crack one morning when I took the car out of the garage. I took the vehicle to Acura service dept to ask for assistance, and was told that they would only provide $200 on an $2000 bill to replace the dash.”

NHTSA complaint #10934025, filed 2016-12, 145,000 miles

“The dash board has two large cracks on it, and I have been told this can cause damage to the airbags that are directly below these cracks. I have done some research and there are a lot of other owners that are having similar issues as this one however Acura is not recognizing this as a defect?”

NHTSA complaint #11011699, filed 2017-07, 110,000 miles

“My dash is cracking at a accelerated rate. First at the passenger airbag, now over driver side. My concern is if the dash is dry enough to split along the airbag seams, then what would prevent shards of dash flying off if the airbag deploys? The should get some serious safety considerations.”

NHTSA complaint #10777802, filed 2015-09, 90,000 miles

“Problem started with a small crack on my dashboard by the passenger airbag(outline of the airbag started cracking). After about a week the crack grew all the way to the windshield and now I have 2 cracks about a foot long each perpendicular to each other. Also another crack closer to the middle of the dashboard appeared about a week ago. That crack is about half the size of the cracks by the passenger airbag.”

NHTSA complaint #10562176, filed 2014-01, 145,000 miles

“2006 Acura TL's side airbags inadvertently deployed. There was no accident and the air bags deployed when I was going 20mph on a local manhattan street (56th between 5th and madison avenues). There was a pothole and the airbag deployed when I drove slightly over it. There's no exterior damage to the car and the tires are perfectly fine.”
