“On 12/3/19 our car was taken to a certified Audi dealer for having the airbag light on indicating a safety issue. The Audi tech #293n found the passenger occupant detection control module faulty and offered to replace this part for $1,172.60. There is a recall for A6 model years, however our car is not included, yet our pods control module has failed. We have spoken with Audi support and was told clearly that our VIN number is not included. We are the original owner and the car is in excellent condition for a 2014. …”

NHTSA complaint #11175145, filed 2019-02“The contact owns a 2014 Audi A6. The contact stated that there was an error message indicating that the front driver's side air bag was not functioning. The contact stated that the passenger seat air bag sensor failed to recognize that the passenger seat was occupied. The dealer was notified of the safety concern and indicated that the vehicle was working up to specifications. The manufacturer was contacted and was not able to indicate if there was a remedy. The approximate failure mileage was unavailable.”
