“Takata recall I have two vehicles in recall. It has been several years since discovered. Bmw has done nothing. Calls to dealer say no parts ' so my wife and I must drive these vehicles that may be dangerous with no idea when the condition will be corrected. Other companies made quick updates. Why not Bmw?”
NHTSA complaint #11019405, filed 2017-08“Front Passenger Seat Occupancy Mat (OC3) for the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS/Air bag system) Failure. Recall was done 06/2018 by BMW dealer, but problem came back 08/2022. Airbag warning light on in dashboard. Reading codes confirms problem. DANGER of bodily harm to passengers because the airbags will not deploy.”
NHTSA complaint #11480449, filed 2022-08“The contact owns a 2009 Bmw X3. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v071000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Rick hill imports of kingsport, tennessee was made aware of the recall and stated that the parts were unavailable. Initially, the dealer stated that the parts would become available within 7-10 days from the date of august 4, 2017. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. …”
