“The passenger side of the vehicle was lowered overnight, but once you start the vehicle the self-leveling mechanism pumps the air into the suspension air bag (my vehicle uses air suspension system). This keeps happening. Bmw forum shows hundreds of Bmw owners who have exactly the same problem. This is a safety issue that needs to be address immediately by Bmw.”
NHTSA complaint #10553983, filed 2013-11, 83,000 miles“The contact owns a 2007 Bmw x5. While driving 40 MPH making a left turn, the engine stalled and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the coil springs needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000.”
