The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000. Updated 11/19/13”

The vehicle was able to restart. The failure occurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the part was not available for NHTSA campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 18,723.”
NHTSA complaint #10633701, filed 2014-09, 18,723 miles“The contact owns a 2011 Buick Lucerne. While driving 60 MPH, the engine stalled and the steering wheel seized without warning. It took the contact several minutes to restart the vehicle. The failure occurred on several occasions and, each time the vehicle stalled, the contact was locked inside the vehicle due to the electronic lock system within the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact serviced the vehicle himself and found that the wiring harness had melted and the engine warning indicator illuminated. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 118,000.”
