Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“At 65 miles per hour on a highway in rich hour traffic my vehicle stalls out and displays 2 lights 1. Reduced engine power service traction control system or something to that effect. The car will not start for 3-5 minutes. Then restarts and continues to do the same thing another 5-7 times before I was able to get to a safe location. When hooked up to a code reader the code that displayed was co240 ABS powertrain control module.. This is extremely dangerous.”

NHTSA complaint #10679865, filed 2015-01, 101,000 miles

“Summary: on certain sport utility vehicles, contamination on ignition relay contacts can cause high resistance. This can affect signals to the powertrain control module and, could cause intermittent vehicle stalls at any time. Consequence: the vehicle cannot be restarted immediately. If this were to occur, it could result in a vehicle crash.”

NHTSA complaint #10425250, filed 2011-09, 70,000 miles

“Dash board lights- flash and sound, while driving...engine slows down and battery light goes on...then, adjusts it's self and lights go off. Suv., then, continues on hwy, like nothing's happened.”

NHTSA complaint #10885781, filed 2016-07, 139,000 miles

“The car can get started immediately. If the car runs, parked and turned off it takes several times to start. Everything in general in this car is very cheaply made and we will never buy a Buick again. Not reliable.”

NHTSA complaint #10520061, filed 2013-06, 102,635 miles

“The Buick Rendezvous would not start after our son little practice had to tow out of park. Electrical ignition switch had to be replaced by local mechanic. …”
