NHTSA complaint #11047528, filed 2017-11, 70,000 miles

“Me and my friend was sitting in my Buick and all of a sudden the indicator says passenger air bag off and the dic says service airbag and the red airbag light came on in the instrument cluster.”

NHTSA complaint #11395664, filed 2021-02, 55,560 miles

“The air bag light flashes on and off on the passenger side, both in motion or stationary. It started doing this for no particular reason. It is a known problem with these cars, it is caused by a manufacturer error when putting together the seats. The problem is that they limit the fix to only cars under 72,000 miles. My car does not have an excessive amount of miles and I haven't done anything thing to cause this to suddenly start malfunctioning, yet it is. This is a safety hazard caused by the manufacturer, that has nothing to do with how many miles are on the car, yet they won't fix it.”

NHTSA complaint #11073150, filed 2018-02, 90,000 miles

“Passenger air bag often displays 'off' when passenger is present and sometimes displays 'on' with seat belt warning displayed with no passenger present. This occurs with vehicle in motion. Dealership stated 'this is a frequent problem. We fixed 2 last week'. Cost for repair is $1148!!!!”
