Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Every three to four months I have to take my car in to have the tires removed the aluminum wheels cleaned and buffed and a bead sealer put on because the wheels get dirt inside and it causes the tires to lose there seal. This last time I almost had an accident beacuse of loss of pressure. I have been told this is common with aluminum wheels if so it is a safety hazard.”

NHTSA complaint #735814, filed 2000-11

“The driver's side chrome wheel cracked and allowed air to seep out. This could possibly result in an accident, according to the consumer. Air had to be placed in the tire every day and ruined the tire well. Cadillac had been made aware of the problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10046338, filed 2003-12
