“One of my vogue radial tubless tires recently developed a 5 bulge on the sidewall. The tire is a p225 60r16 97s custom built radial 1x+. Had this bulge not been brought to my attention by a passerby there is a strong possibility a blow-out could have occurred. These tires are rated for 70,000 miles and I had about 30,000 miles of use. Replacement cost per tire is $224 plus tax. Picture available upon request. Updated 09/16-10 updated 09/20/10 updated 12/03/10”

NHTSA complaint #10354655, filed 2010-09, 58,000 miles

“Tire monitor reporting erroneous & inaccurate readings. Took the car in for service to rotate tires. Drove home on the way tire monitor flashes service tire monitor . Checked with dealer car not covered by warranty nothing done. Inaccurate tire pressure readings caused overfill on the wrong tire and a good reading on a tire that was low.”

NHTSA complaint #10199504, filed 2007-08, 61,000 miles

“Hit pot hole at about 30 MPH twice. Developed bubble in sidewall both time, goodyear denied resposibility both times. Car is 2002 Cadillac Deville dts with 17,100 miles. Had to purchase replacement tire both times. Have tire from last incident.”

NHTSA complaint #10073004, filed 2004-05, 17,170 miles

“Tire pressure sensor readout display reversed for left side. Lf tire pressure showed as lr and vice versa (confirmed next day with gauge). Sensor reported 40 lbs in lr (we had added no air, but car had been released from service that morning). Caused me to release air from wrong tire and then add air to wrong tire. Erroneous readout first appeared at 2:30am with no gas station available with readable tire gauge. Serious hazard for blow-out/early tire failure.”

NHTSA complaint #766143, filed 2002-08

“The contact stated while driving the vehicle going 70 MPH the vehicle started to wobble and a noise could be heard coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was pulled into a rest area. The contact got out of the vehicle to check the tires and noticed a knot on the left rear tire. The vehicle was taken to the dealership. Upon inspection the problem was found to be the tread had separated from all four tires. The tires were replaced, the manufacturer has been alerted. Updated 4/14/2006 -”
