“Takara recall: in 2015 my Cadillac escalade was involved in a motor vehicle accident in which the airbag deployed and exploded with a bunch of smoke and awful smell in the air and some debris. The vehicle was in motion in hit a midsize honda accord head on. I was traveling straight on a city street. I was faulted since I was reaching for my GPS navigation device that had fallen on the floor. The cause for the malfunction to me is unknown. I was definitely injured in the accident but I only had liability insurance at the time and it only covered the other party since I was faulted. …”

“In nov. 2010 the front seat heaters failed in our Cadillac Escalade Esv. At that time an electrical burning smell was observed by the occupants. A later inspection found that the j1 wiring connector, which connects to the seat climate control module, which is inadequate for the current load, had overheated resulting in the white plastic connector becoming blackened and brittle,. This resulted in the a loss of power to the seat heater. …”

NHTSA complaint #10384731, filed 2011-02, 56,685 miles

“Airbag light came on while we took a trip to big bear with friends, technician discovered the connectors under the front passenger seat were melted, got the connectors changed, airbag module replaced, airbag light is still on. I own a rental company and I'm not able to rent the vehicle due to the passenger airbag recall for the past year, and GM won't do anything about it. This recall needs to be performed.”
