NHTSA complaint #11045973, filed 2017-11, 53,000 miles

“The battery in my Escalade had been dying on me for a while. One day, my gauges all stayed stuck as if I was driving on the freeway. I drove it for a while until I was tired of jump-starting it almost everyday and I finally replaced the battery.the gauges all stayed the same. A few days went by and the battery started to die again. I realized that this was more than just a battery problem. I drove it 5 miles away from my place on the freeway and as I was coming back home it started to decelerate all on it's own. It marked system stability disabled and would not let me go over 25 MPH. …”

NHTSA complaint #10451490, filed 2012-03, 125,000 miles

“While driving down the road service stability track message would appear on the dashboard message center. That would then disable the traction control system. An audible ding-ding would sound about every thirty-seconds as you were driving down the road. The button on the dash was inoperable and would not shut off the system. Cadillac advised my dealer that I would have to wait for the 2004 models to be released to get the problem fixed. When vehicle was in the shop to be fixed it was also found that the ABS module needed to be replaced because that was not functional. …”

NHTSA complaint #10036951, filed 2003-08, 50 miles

“Stabilization equipment makes vehicle loose all power for 5-10 seconds, makes a horrible noise and slides down the hill without any way to control vehicle. I have test driven with dealer on four separate occasions after repairs. Dealer advises a serious safety hazard. Gm says there is no problem just wait for new computer software program to be released. I have almost been in a collision each time driving the vehicle going home daily. The dealer is standing by me but is having problems; the area representative larry marvin. The car was purchased on 09/21/03 and has less than 500 miles.”

NHTSA complaint #10041501, filed 2003-10, 100 miles

“Electronic stability control problem on the 2003 Cadillac Escalade traction control light comes on, ABS light comes on, service stability control alarm comes on. When it is not one alarm or the other it is all. Replaced hubs, shocks, sensors, compressor several times, worked on system grounds for electrical, etc. Problem sometime will go away for a few thousand miles then returns. Cadillac mechanics stumped.started when vehicle had almost 80,000 miles now has 146,000 and it is constant problem and large amounts of money. …”
