“While stopped in my 1995 Chevrolet silverado 4 wheel drive pickup (short bed, step side) I was re-ended by an SUV (pathfinder) doing approximately 45mph. The truck bed crashed into the cab and and dented it. The driver seat broke, frame bent, etc. The airbag did not deploy.”
NHTSA complaint #10000724, filed 2003-01, 120,000 miles“While traveling at 45 MPH, another vehicle made an illegal turn, causing consumer to lose control and hit the other vehicle. None of the air bags deployed.”
NHTSA complaint #10027156, filed 2003-07, 120,000 miles“While driving at 35 MPH another vehicle pulled out in front of the consumer's vehicle. Consumer applied the brakes and the ABS system locked up, causing the consumer to hit the other vehicle. Upon impact, driver's side air bag didn't deploy, and the steering wheel was bent.”
NHTSA complaint #843132, filed 1999-07“While driving at 50 MPH steering went out. Consumer could turn steering wheel, but vehicle kept straight into a pole. The air bag did not deploy duringthe accident, and the consumer was injured.”
NHTSA complaint #888263, filed 2001-05“Consumer experienced problems with driver's side airbag. During a head-on collision in which the other driver was going 65 MPH, airbag failed to deploy. The manufacturer has yet to be contacted.”
