“I am having the same cracked dash issue every other owner is having with these GM models 2007-2014 GM trucks/suvs. I just noticed the three cracks I have, so I am not sure when exactly they started (within the last few months).”
NHTSA complaint #10910963, filed 2016-10, 100,000 miles“The dashboard has cracked in the top left corner just above the passenger side air bag. This exact same crack in the exact same location has also occurred on my 2007 gmc yukon denali which I will file separately.”
NHTSA complaint #10863128, filed 2016-05, 108,000 miles“The dashboard of my 2007 chevy avalanche has been cracking for years, I did let my dealership know and they said that was not under warranty and they didn't offer me a discount to repair it. My dash has several cracks from the drivers side to the passenger side airbag, a large hole is directly in the middle of the dash where the pieces just vibrated apart exposing the equipment under the dash. The pieces of plastic are a little heavy and sharp I feel the whole dash could break into pieces if the air bag is deployed. …”
NHTSA complaint #10782229, filed 2015-10, 30,000 miles“Dashboard is cracked in several places near the passenger airbag and instrument cluster. It may eventually crack enough that big pieces will pop loose and chunks of my dash will be gone. Abs glue is the only thing that works to join the seams together to stop the dash from shaking and making tons of noise. The shaking likely caused the cracks to grow more also prior to me finally through lots of trial and error successfully gluing it. Hopefully it will keep the current crack from growing. But only time will tell. And new ones will likely appear if the old ones do not spread. …”
NHTSA complaint #11163874, filed 2018-12, 65,000 miles“Dashboard cracks thoughtout the dashborad, first appeared by the air bag then more appeared over the instarment cluster then the defroster vent panel, sections are completly breaking away”
