NHTSA complaint #10495973, filed 2013-01, 113,976 miles“Similar to complaint odi 766153. This occurred , twice this year, initially 1/10/03, brakes drums and rotors in rear were severely worn. 2nd date shown below. Outside rim also became brown and corroded. Dealer repaired and replaced due to 3/36 warranty.”
NHTSA complaint #10016527, filed 2003-04, 20,000 miles“Gm had repaired the rust brake defects on my type of vehicle in many salt states that endure cold weather. But because there was not enough outrage they did not repair this same defect in my state. There is a problem with the wheel bearings where rust causes the anti lock braking system to needless engage when it should not during slow speeds sometimes making braking dangerous in slow turning and parking situations. I have already spent thousands of dollars fixing these defects on my own but because of a faulty design in the system this problem has a tendency to re occur.”
NHTSA complaint #10626730, filed 2014-08“I have not given permission to the dealership service department to start repairs. They told me it was the rear axle or rear end that was damaged beyond repair and must be replaced. I was quoted a repair cost of $2,400 for a used part and $3,000 for a new part. This truck has around 42,000 miles and was purchased june 1, 2003. I have had multiple problems ranging from replacement of cd's to a door window motor problem. I inquired/complained about a noise in the rear end at around 25,000 miles prior to the breakdown. However, they could not find the problem. …”

The vehicle only had 8827 miles and had original wheels and tires.
