“There is a GM recall #05068c- product safety- front wheel speed sensor corrosion. The 2002 Avalanche is listed, but my 2003 is not. I live in indiana, one of the states listed in the recall. My 2003 Avalanche has this failure and should be covered by the recall.”
NHTSA complaint #10659652, filed 2014-11, 159,000 miles“One day while driving at 55mph the truck just shut down. Everything electrical completely shut off. Luckily I was able to control it. I turned the vehicle off and restarted it. It was fine but did it again when I stopped at a stop sign. It continued to do it but then just stopped. Check engine light goes off and on all the time when I accelerate up a hill. The lights on the dashboard are dim. Everything on the mirror comes and goes. It will go months without working and then comes back on. The suspension is terrible. …”
NHTSA complaint #10629240, filed 2014-08, 110,000 miles“I am hearing a roaring noise coming from my rear wheel, I took my z66 into the shop and he said the wheel bearings need to be replaced. The truck only has 50000 miles on it. The bearings should not need to be replaced that soon.”
NHTSA complaint #10102751, filed 2004-12, 48,000 miles“The vehicle was very unstable during crosswinds which caused the vehicle to sway left or right unexpectedly. The tire air pressure was found to be 4-5 p/si lower than the design valve. The pressure was increased to the proper valve brought the vehicle handling and the steering response back to a stable condition.”
