“1994, Chevrolet C1500 extended cab pu with electric seats. Front left seat mount broke as I climbed into seat. I was lucky I was not driving. Still trying to fix it so part is still on truck.”

NHTSA complaint #10206259, filed 2007-10, 48,500 miles

“I contacted the dealership first, they then referred me to customer assistance where I was informed that there had been a recall for this problem late last year and that my vehicle was not included in it. I also informed them that I had received a recall notice and when I took the vehicle up to green Chevrolet (currently american Chevrolet) they told me that they couldn't fix the problem because at that time the seat was operating correctly.”

NHTSA complaint #537612, filed 1998-06

“Dt: 1994 Chevrolet 1500. The consumer stated that there was a recall on a bolt for the seat about seven years ago. The recall repairs were done. After the recall repairs were completed the consumer was driving and the seat failed. The consumer called Chevrolet and they stated that the recall work was out of warranty and that the consumer would have to pay to have the seat repaired again. The seat failure did not result in a crash or any injuries.”

NHTSA complaint #10135531, filed 2005-09

“The metal that connects the base to the seat broke which causes the seat to lay back while vehicle is in motion. Consumer states where the bucket seat is connected to the base on the driver seat front left side, the metal that goes to the base and bolt has fatigued and broke, Chevrolet will not assist consumer and states that this is normal wear and tear.”

NHTSA complaint #803146, filed 1996-10

“Consumer states the sixty-forty split beach seat bracket which is attached to the metal is too thin, resulting in the metal to fatigue, allowing the seat to break away, causing the seat to drop back ten to six inches. Problem is not corrected.”

NHTSA complaint #819610, filed 1998-01
