“I discovered at 1500 miles my 2004 Cavalier ls had a leak apparent in the roof liner. Took it to the dealer and turns out the rear back window seal was not properly installed and was crimped upon installation at the factory. The problem was repaired under warranty by GM and was fixed to my satisfaction.”

NHTSA complaint #10062531, filed 2004-03, 1,500 miles

“I have a 2004 Cavalier. Shortly after I bought it the drivers window stopped working. I had a warranty and replaced it. It stopped working without any warning. When I got the car back I could hear air coming through the window, but didn't see any gaps. Eventually noticed the window was off track. My guess is poor fixing by the dealership. About 2 years later (my warranty is up) the drivers window quit working again. I had to drive in the pouring rain with my window down. We have had so much rain the roads are flooding thus sending tons of water into my car by passing cars. …”

NHTSA complaint #10339473, filed 2010-06, 42,000 miles

“I have a 2004 chevy Cavalier ls sport. Well lets first start off with my drivers side window motor. It went out about a year and half ago and we fixed it this summer. Apparently it is a huge problem but of course no recall on it so paid almost 300 dollars myself to fix it. Then after that when I would start my car and put it into drive, the car would sputter and the ABS and trac off lights would come on. Next about 5 months ago I noticed that my gas gauge was fluctuating a little. Didn't give it much thought but then 2 months ago my temp gauge was going haywire. …”

NHTSA complaint #10249107, filed 2008-11, 51,862 miles

“The power windows don't work . The gauges don't work only gauge that's works is the tachometer from my research these are two common problems with these cavaliers the windows is more of a convenience problem but the gauges not working is a safety problem Chevrolet should have to make this right.”

NHTSA complaint #10435290, filed 2011-11, 80,000 miles

“The second window motor is failing and needs replacement. The first to fail was the back passenger side, which of course was rarely ever used. Now the front driver's side window will often times not close and after waiting some time, it goes up bit by bit. Very soon it is going to quit working altogether. The part alone is almost $250.”
