“I have 33000+ miles on my Cobalt. Lately the wipers have been going into pulse mode while the selector is in regular speed. They always work in high and in pulse. When the wipers start to pause I move the selector to high so that I can see to drive. The selector lever does not appear to be moving around. I have not examined this and I have not called my local Chevrolet dealer.”

“About three months ago, I was driving down the road when my power steering stopped working. I shut the car off, and it went back to working. About a month ago it started doing it again, no I have no power steering. I have read other complaints on the issue. My back driver side window has now stop working and my AC is leaking onto my floor board on the passenger side. The car only has 55,000 miles on it. It had about 48,000 on it when everything started to happen.”

NHTSA complaint #10258728, filed 2009-02, 48,000 miles

“We bought this car in july 2005. Since this time, it has been in the shop 8 times for various reasons. Mainly the steering. Going over bumps, it rattles very loudly. The steering column, struts, mounts, and almost everything to do with the steering has been replaced twice!! Still rattles loudly. Gm tells us that is not a safety hazard. There is a fix in progress but may take 6 months to a year! I pay a lot of money a month for a rattle trap! …”

NHTSA complaint #10160755, filed 2006-06, 8,000 miles

“I purchased the vehicle new and there has been problems with the fuel gauge not registering full when it is filled up. Sometimes it goes to the 7/8 mark and sometimes it doesn't even go to there. They told me that it was a programming problem , and there should be an update for the computer. I took it in for the update and apparently it was not fixed. Also, the fan motor on the vent controls only works on high. I have had the car in to the dealer twice for this issue.”

NHTSA complaint #10114554, filed 2005-03, 125 miles

“I own a 2005 chevy Cobalt ls and have had numerous problems with it. 1st I had to take it in because the passenger side rear suspension was making clunking noises. 2nd I had to take it in because there was moisture building up inside the drivers side headlight. 3rd I had to take it in because the passenger side rear window was howling and you could hear the outside air blowing through it when driving. 4th problem I just recently am having is the heating system. The blower just does what it wants. I can have the air to the off position and it still blows air at a high speed. …”
