“I bought the car used with approx. 43,000 miles in 2010, and paid for extended warranty, but didn't test all functions of power windows, only the driver side window worked . I was unaware of this for months because I seldom have others in my car. On july 18th 2014,the drivers window would not work. I had complained about the other windows, but though I might have problems with safety locks .I had already called about the recall that I saw on tv, and was told that part was not at dealers, and would be called when they got the parts. …”
NHTSA complaint #10614723, filed 2014-07, 69,333 miles“At time of purchase of a new 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, it was noticed the driver side rear view mirror had limited adjustment range and could not be adjusted for a clear rear view before the adjustment lever reached the end of its range. The dealership reported that many customers complain of the same defect but as yet the factory has provided no solution. I believe this factory defect has potential to cause serious accidents or mishaps.”
NHTSA complaint #10243596, filed 2008-09, 1 miles“These comments apply to many sedans! Roof is too low! Vision is obstructed . Can't look up. Can't see traffic lights change when stopped in front of them! Roof supports, especially in the front make dangerous blind spots. Aside from this , I am only 6 feet tall. Yes I am now in my 60's. Most sedans are too low to the ground. I can't get in or out! Especially if I have to park beside a curb. I can't get out! And just a note: airbags save lives but I hate bucket seats and consoles with cup holders. So many distractions now! I wish I could still have bench seats. Thanks”
NHTSA complaint #11173741, filed 2019-02“The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt. The contact stated that while driving uphill 35 MPH, the steering locked and the vehicle went into a ditch. The vehicle was towed to a body shop for repairs but the steering was not repaired. The contact previously had the vehicle repaired according to recall 10v073000 (steering:electric power assist system). Since the repair had been performed, there were fumes being emitted from the heating vehicle which made the contact sick. The VIN was unavailable. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000 and the current mileage was approximately 7,600.”
