“I was at work and parked my car like normal, someone came and asked me if that was my car that was parked crazy. I looked out and it was. My car rolled out of the parking spot with the e-brake on. Another time I started it to warm it up in the morning, I came back out, it rolled out of my spot and hit the curb. I looked to see if there was a recall, but there is not. I did find many other people with the same issues!!!”

NHTSA complaint #11186184, filed 2019-03, 149,000 miles

“2008 chevy Cobalt, I bought it brand new in jan. 2008! I have had nothing but problems with the passengers side front end and front brakes. In the beginning, the car was under warranty, now it is not, but the problems keep happening and I have had it back in for service many, many times! Always for the same issues, front end and brakes! You will see when you pull the service reports! …”

NHTSA complaint #10356660, filed 2010-09, 35,886 miles

“Electrical dash panel gauges bounce. Power steering comes and goes. Engine cuts out & idols oddly, ever since I bought the vehicle I have problems with the power steering and electronic dash cluster.”

NHTSA complaint #10908494, filed 2016-09, 107 miles

“While driving in the left lane on a multiple lane interstate highway the driver on my right changed lanes into my lane. On my left was a concrete barrier without enough room for me to avoid the other driver. I aggressively applied the brakes to try and avoid the other vehicle. Even though my vehicle has ABS (anti-lock brakes), the left front brake locked up and pulled me into the concrete barrier. At no time in the life of my car have I gotten any indication that the ABS system wasn't working properly. …”

NHTSA complaint #10561138, filed 2014-01, 70,000 miles

“My 2008 chevy Cobalt came without ABS braking system. This winter when I tried braking (even at low speeds) the rear of the car lost control and attempts to spin the car out of control. After three trips to the dealer, GM was called by the dealer. They were told that GM was aware of the problem because of the light back end of the car and there was no fix. This is a very dangerous car. I no longer drive it. I had several near incidents on snow because of this design problem.”
