“The steering in my car all of a sudden became hard to control, hard to turn and you have to pull the steering wheel back after a turn and then the car jerks. This happened after my car was recalled for power steering defects, and after the appropriate work was done to replace the recalled part. I now have a problem with my power steering ( even though I had no previous steering difficulties prior t recall ). …”

NHTSA complaint #10393737, filed 2011-03, 108,400 miles

“The audio indicator for the turn signals, chime for safety belts, door ajar (all warning chimes) stopped working. The left front speaker stopped working for the radio as well. (I've looked this up on the internet, and supposedly all audio indicators come through the speaker.) this appears to be a problem with many cobalts, over a long time (I've seen it mentioned for many model years). It is always the same, the left front speaker stops working (none of the others) and the audio warning equipment stops functioning.”

NHTSA complaint #10514131, filed 2013-05, 40,000 miles

“This is a 3 year old 2008 GM Cobalt with less than 35,000 mile. I was out running errands 7/18/11. I drove in to parking spot and attempted to turn my car off. The key did not turn to turn the car off nor could I remove the key from the ignition. I drove my car to GM dealer and was told the ignition cylinder needed replacement. I was surprised because the car is only 3 years old and I had no other problem. I have owned two other cars, one for 10 yrs and one for 11 yrs never at any time did I have any problem with getting the key from the ignition or problems turning my car off. …”

“When using brakes on ice roads the back brakes come on first,,and you spin in a circle..not good!!!!!! The radio goes off and on when it wants..this happens all the time!!!”

NHTSA complaint #10575673, filed 2014-03, 69,000 miles

“When I started my car and at the same time I wanted to pull down the window it didn't work. I think it was already too much for the car. It happened already 3 times in 2.5 years and the car was new. Every time I have to go to the dealer to change the regulator in the window.”
