“I bought an Equinox EV on August 13, 2024. After purchasing, I found the infotainment system and central cluster became very hot after driving for about 45 minutes. The infotainment screen even was too hot to be touched. The dealer checked the car on 08/20, found error codes related to Front Faceplate Temperature Control Circuits, as the attached DTC report shows. Instead of fixing the errors, the dealer erased the codes, and told me comparing with a new like vehicle, the screen temperature is normal. …”

“I was driving on the freeway and the dashboard went dark and then rebooted. I did not have a speedometer. I did not lose control of the car. It was frightening.”

NHTSA complaint #11644225, filed 2025-02

“The vehicle seemingly at random, will engage automatic emergency braking. These events are hard braking events, locking up wheels and engaging ABS for brief moments at 75mph. There is no sensitivity adjustment, forcing the safety features off to ensure I am not rear ended. In my first month of ownership, we have experienced: 1) backing out of my garage in good weather and into my driveway (flat surface, no hills) causing whiplash. 2) inside turning lane of a 2-lane left turns, presumably detecting the outside lane vehicle, stopping in the middle of an intersection instantly. …”

NHTSA complaint #11651927, filed 2025-03

“This was new vehicle in the dealer parking lot with 215 miles on it. I took it for a test drive with the sales person in the city next to me on the passenger seat.I was on the interstate with adaptive cruise control on. When the electric breaks failed and all kinds of information popped up on the screen. The display screen toggled between, Brake System Failure - 62 MPH Top Speed and Service ESC . Fortunately, interstate was not too crowded. I could sense that it took a great deal of effort effort to slow down the vehicle. So luckily there was an exit coming soon. …”

NHTSA complaint #11631673, filed 2024-12

“The turn signal stalk, when self-canceling from a right turn, will drop too hard, and will turn on the left turn signal after the turn, causing confusion to not only the vehicle operator, but other drivers on the road. This has happened on multiple occasions.”
