“The front two seat anchors on the driver's side have sheared off. I could understand if the bolts came loose or something, but these are clearly structural failure. Since it is the seat we are talking about it is clearly a safety issue that these components have failed. I can understand normal wear and tear, but the metal used in seat mounts shouldn't shear under normal wear and tear. And no, my wife and I don't weigh 400lbs or something. ;) thanx for any help you can provide.”
NHTSA complaint #759242, filed 2002-03“Driver's seat tracks and anchors broke apart after sitting down to start vehicle. Wooden blocks had to be placed underneath the seat in order to drive the vehicle to mechanic. Dealer replaced the left seat adjuster.”
NHTSA complaint #8001515, filed 2002-01“3 seat belt retractors fail to retract. Front passenger seat back is loose, falls back when leaned on. Front passenger seat arm rest in unmovable. Chevrolet should be responsible to repair these safety components.”
