1995: “I have a 1995 chevy lumina van and the steel frame under the drivers seat keeps breaking. I welded the first seat 3 times until it was so bad I had top buy another one. The second seat I got was the same and I am about to weld it a second time also. I know of another person with a 1992 lumina van who had the same problem. I can't believe it hasn't been recalled yet. Thanks .”

1996: “My 1996 lumina mini van caught on fire at the rear right wheel well because of a wiring short. Luckily my grandchildren were in the store when they came out the fire department was putting the fire out. Both the side and back doors could not open because the power lock module had melted. If anyone would have been inside they would not been able to get out of the vehicle safely.”

NHTSA complaint #10043013, filed 2003-10, 130,000 miles

1993: “Recalls 94v027 and 94v015 do not cover my van, but describe the problems I am having exactly. Since we bought the van in 1995 the rear seatbelts have locked up at the oddest times. All of the back seat belts (not just the ones described in 94v027) lock up at times and will usually unlock with a few days of driving. All of the rear seatbelts will lock on an incline (as described in 94v015) and not unlock until the van is moved to level ground. My kids know that sometimes they can not put on their seatbelts until the van is moving. …”
